Course Description

The course presents practical aspects of well planning, drilling, completion, production, plugging and abandonment. It emphasises on the status of well barriers and well barrier envelopes during each phase of the life of a well including HPHT wells. Use of software in the preliminary well design and troubleshooting is also presented.

 

Course Aim

The aim of this course is to provide participants with a basic knowledge of the theoretical and practical aspects of well integrity.

Course Objectives

Participants who attend this course will :
• Understand the roles and responsibilities of all the stakeholders involved.
• Know the competency and training requirements for personnel involved in operations.
• Understand the relevance of the ownership over the lifecycle for wells.
• Be able to perform risk assessment with a risk register and use performance standards that define the requirements to maintain the well barriers within its operating limits.
• Be able to apply the principles of well design, construction, and barrier requirements.
• Learn how to manage abnormal and sustained casing pressure.
• Understand the useful reference documents for well integrity management
